February “it” Girl ~ Kelly Wearstler
2008-02-13T04:13:05 - The IT Lists |
I have to echo Fab Sugar’s “girl crush” on Kelly Wearstler. Fab Sugar dubbed our gal as a standing out as an eclectic and a risk taker in January’s Vogue.
For me it’s been love since check in - at the ultra, hip Viceroy in Santa Monica. One of my fav hotel stays ever! Beyond being the owner’s wife, Kelly is the creative eye and lifestyle muse for all the Viceroy resorts. Her cabana’s at the Viceroy’s Cameo Bar make it a celeb staple hang out.

While being a judge on Bravo’s Top Design she proved she dares to mix prints, play with color, and experiment with whacky footwear or hairstyles (ala crimped or poodled). Let’s not forget Wearstler is married to a millionaire and co-hosts parties with Vogue. She currently has her own boutique within Bergdorf Goodman in New York and is launching a clothing line.

Spring Trends
2008-02-11T22:14:24 - Mens Flair |
When you move to New York, your wardrobe slowly but surely morphs into gradations of black and gray. Something about the city and its business orientation dictates that everyone looks like they’ve just come back from a funeral. This spring, however, is all about bright colors.

Saturday Beauty Pick - Ineke Fragrances
2008-01-12T18:51:00 - Eyye4Style |

The lovely and wise fragrance editor of BeautyNewsNYC.com introduced me to San Francisco- based perfumer Ineke just last week. After sniffing her bottle of After My Own Heart, a delicate blend of lilac, heliotrope, sandalwood and musk, I knew that THIS was a line I needed to learn more about. The next morning, I immediately ordered Ineke's Deluxe Sample Collection, which includes 4 sample vials (packaged just beautifully) for $12 (redeemable on a full bottle purchase.) I received the sample set just a few days later and have since tested After My Own Heart again along with Balmy Days and Sundays, a gorgeous clean floral with notes of freesia, honeysuckle, grass and musk. I have a definite "type" when it comes to perfumes - I love notes of rose, gardenia, orchid, lilac and also clean, skin scents and these two Ineke creations are right up my alley. Full bottles, here I come! |

If you love dresses too, then you have to check out TheFind…they have great deals on the hottest dresses for any occasion at every price point.
Rebecca Taylor Mini Dresses

Rebecca Taylor mini dresses are the perfect answer for your party dress needs. From nights out to spring dances, socials and other evening soirees, a mini dress from Rebecca Taylor will be sure to turn heads.
Womens Sundresses

Now THIS is what I’m talking about…this is basically my favorite warm weather uniform. Sundresses are super cool and casual and can be worn pretty much anywhere from the beach to a cruise to a casual dinner, shopping, the movies and more. With the right accessories (flip flops and a fun tote for day, cardigan and heels for night) you can get the most mileage out of a solid colored sun dress. This sundress is particularly cute because it of the subtle details (like pockets…so hot right now!).
One Shoulder Dresses

This is basically the “it” dress of the season…so many celebs are embracing one shoulder dresses, and you should too! Super cute and trendy, this is a great party dress for the gal looking for something fun (but not too revealing) and is perfect for a wedding, a night out and more.
Keep checking with TheFind for more great deals on your favorite Dresses and much much more!

New shoe: the peep-toe bootie
2008-02-04T15:25:13 - You Look Fab |
First it was the ankle bootie, then the Oxford bootie, and now a peep-toe version of these styles is Spring 2008’s trendiest new shoe. This trend sends the same mixed message as sleeveless woolly turtlenecks and short-sleeved coats (Winter items with impractical Summer styling). But peep-toes are super for Spring and this shoe is essentially a peep-toed pump with a little more foot coverage.
The ped is being paired with ankle length skinnies, walk shorts, skirts and dresses. It’s an eccentric look that’s definitely not mainstream. I can appreciate the fresh idea, but I can’t see myself wearing them. Can you?

Hot off the press: peep-toe Oxfords and peep-toe booties from Nordstrom. Heel heights are once again absurd. I quite like the streamlined look of the style without laces.

FW08: Missioni Men's wear.
2008-01-13T13:50:00 - Mens Fashion Blog |
Kick off time and first in line is Missioni which we relate for their notoriously colourful and geometric patterns. This time they have left much of their signature patterns behind the curtain and laid more emphasis on design. Missioni has become the arch nemesis of Burberry. Both design houses design proper but very chic men’s wear for the modern 21th century man. This F/W collection doesn’t consist of is not the typically cocky bad boy type of outfits. It is a little puffy though, if you look at the upper part of the trousers which gradually become slimmer downwards. Many of them a little shimmery and with the beige background the collection give me some minor Burberry SS08 ultra sonic vibes. They are very attractive though and are similar in shape to the type of jeans I wear.

It’s tucking-in galore to say the least. The trousers have been accentuated by tucking in the upper wear. With 2-4 thick pieces tucked into the trousers there is no way that a 5 years old boy would want to wear many of the outfits. Everything from shirts and turtle necks to thick cardigans have been tucked in for the pleasure of preventing the models from freezing in this unusually warm winter. + The belts. Kimono styled cardigans. Slim pants. The bright but not to bright colour scheme. - Tucked in blazers, meeh?? Please return some of the knit wear you have stolen from the elderly, especially the chicken yellow cardigan. Grade: Missoni is rising on my rank and even though there is grandpa inspiration this collection it’s a home run. 5/5 |
